Spielhaus - No Rules
Play space at Stalla Libra
Together with 20 recent graduates from the Royal College of Art, Smeeing spend one month in Sedrun to design and build a play space in the art space Stalla Libra. Divided in four smaller groups, a series of large-scale games were designed, build and installed in the separate rooms of the space. The collaborative project transformed the previously disused barn, into a communal play space Spielhaus welcoming local kids as well as the seasonal visitors.
With his team, Smeeing was responsible for the game No Rules. The space functioned as a giant pegboard and aimed to inspire kids to interact with the whole space and build things based on their imagination. Foam noodles and geometric foam shapes could be connected to the various wall and floor surfaces, as well as to themselves, to build large soft structures.
